Yamaha Motor Europe released a second R/World teaser video of a new R series model, which is likely to be called Yamaha YZF-R7. This second teaser video reveals the unveil date and talks about the kind of riders YZF-R7 is designed for.
According to the first official video teaser, which was released at the beginning of May, we could consider the bike is more of a sport tourer, as it is shown on racetracks and twisty mountain roads.
The second video also focuses on riders at a track in track leather, supporting our first video speculation. And, it’s obvious that the new bike in question is designed for riders who are new to track riding or new track day enthusiasts.
There’s a place where the track and the road meet a different kind of rider.

Whereas, in the second teaser video, we can see a bike on both the racetrack as well as the regular roads. By this, we can assume the new bike can be used as a daily commuter too.
No details are revealed about the mechanical aspects of the new bike. But, the first video revealed the exhaust note of the bike, which is similar to the MT-07. If this is the case, the latest YZF-R7 could be based on the MT-07 platform. Besides all this, the new R model may come with the 689cc parallel-twin engine and possibly replace the existing R6.
While the first video talked about terrains, the second teaser gives you the unveil date, which is on May 18, 2021. If you are questioning about the new R model hitting the Indian streets, the Japanese two-wheeler maker is unlikely to make it happen.
