The German carmaker revealed its launch plans of four SUVs in India this year. The official timeline is not yet shared by the company.
SUV Taigun is said to be the biggest launch of Volkswagen in 2021. This mid-size SUV will be supported by MQB A0 IN platform, engineered specifically for our roads. The car will be powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine capable of producing 148bhp and 250Nm of torque.
The other features of the SUV Taigun include redesigned two-slat chrome grille, square-shaped LED headlamps with LED DRLs, silver bash plates at front and rear, digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity support as well as two-tone cabin colour.
Besides, The T-Roc and seven-seater Tiguan Allspace will be re-introduced in the Indian market without much of the cosmetic changes. It will continue to be retailed via the CBU route. Last year, both these cars were imported in limited numbers and were sold out quickly. If you have missed buying any of these SUVs in 2020, we say 2021 is the right time as bookings for both models will begin soon.
Volkswagen has confirmed that the bookings for the T-Roc will commence from April 1, 2021, with a booking amount of Rs. 50,000.
The five-seat Tiguan will be the fourth SUV to launch this year, which was discontinued in India. The all-new Tiguan will come with a new front grille, LED headlamps, and tail lamps. It might also be packed with a fully digital instrument console, the latest MIB3 touchscreen infotainment system supporting CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless charging.
