Japanese carmaker Nissan has revealed the updated 2022 model year GT-R Nismo. The 2022 Nissan GT-R Nismo also gets a special edition model and comes with an exclusive colour scheme. The new special edition variant of the supercar will be launched in the company’s home market later this year.
The standard Nissan GT-R Nismo features an exclusive Stealth Grey paint scheme inspired by the Tarmac of various race tracks at which the car holds the lap record. Apart from that, the 2022 GT-R also features the updated Nissan logo.
The new special edition variant of the Nissan GT-R Nismo gets a carbon-fibre bonnet that is unpainted. The carbon-fibre bonnet sheds 100g off the kerb weight. The special edition model also gets redesigned 20-inch aluminium forged wheels.
The updated GT-R Nismo draws power from the existing 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine churning out 591bhp. The engine gets GT3-spec turbochargers. On the special edition model, the engine features new high-precision weight-balanced components such as piston rings, connecting rods, crankshaft, etc.
Nissan has made no changes to the braking system of the car. The GT-R Nismo gets 410mm disc at the front and 390mm discs at the rear.
