Tuscon Inspired Hyundai Santa Cruz Pickup Truck Revealed

Tuscon Inspired Hyundai Santa Cruz Pickup Truck Revealed

Hyundai has finally revealed the official images of the Hyundai Santa Cruz Pickup Truck. The company has released the teaser image of this pickup truck at the beginning of this month. The new Hyundai Santa Cruz will first hit the North American roads, followed by other markets.

Hyundai Santa Cruz pickup truck is inspired by the 2021 Tucson. It gets a similar front grille and the daylight running setup to that of the current-gen Tuscon. Besides, it also shares similar powertrain options – 2 petrol engines, a 2.5-litre NA, and a 1.6-litre turbo motor.

The Santa Cruz will have unibody construction, unlike other pickups that are based on a body-on-frame structure. We can also expect the new pickup truck to hold the same platform as Tuscon. To spot the difference between the two, the Santa Cruz pickup will come along with an AWD setup, whereas Tuscon is an FWD vehicle.

Hyundai calls Hyundai Santa Cruz a Sports Adventure Vehicle. It comes with a prominent skid plate upfront and raked A-pillar, giving it a sleek look coupled with an angled C-pillar structure. The extended wheel arches and 20-inch alloy wheels give it a feel of ruggedness.

The naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine of an all-new pickup truck produces more than 190hp and 244Nm of peak torque. The engine is then mated to an eight-speed automatic with an all-wheel drive.

On the inside, you can see Hyundai Santa Cruz equipped with an eight-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, foldable rear seats, and storage compartments below them. You can also choose a digital instrument cluster based on your likings.

To speak of safety features, the Santa Cruz pickup truck gets multiple airbags, a lane-keeping assist, a blind-spot camera, blind-spot collision avoidance, driver attention warning, safe-exit assist, forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian as well as cyclist detection, surround-view monitor, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance.

No updates on Hyundai Santa Cruz entering the Indian market. However, the Korean carmaker will launch the Alcazar three-row SUV in India this year.
