Tata Motors launches the new XTA variant of a hatchback – the Tata Tiago, at a starting price of Rs. 5.99 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). With a brand promise of staying new forever, the company introduces the 4th AMT option in the Tiago family.
Tiago XTA gives the company a competitive edge in the mid-hatch segment by being the affordable car in Tata Motors’ line-up. Before XTA, the Tiago XZA was the most economical automatic trim of the hatchback, with a starting price of Rs. 6.46 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Tiago comes with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 86PS and 113Nm of peak torque. The powerful engine is mated to 5-speed manual gearbox and an optional 5-speed AMT. You will find the same engine with the Tigor and the Altroz.
Some of the safety features of the all-new Tiago include ABS with EBD and CSC, dual airbags, a high-speed alert system, Corner Stability Control, speed-sensitive auto door locking system, rear wash wiper with defogger, front seatbelt reminder, a rearview camera, and energy-absorbing strong body structure.
Standing on 15-inch alloy wheels, the Tata Tiago XTA is packed with other features like an 8-speaker premium sound system from Harman, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto connectivity, automatic climate control, sport mode, cooled glovebox, a digital speedo, and all-four power windows.
Tiago hatchback has scored a 4-star safety rating in Global NCAP’s crash tests, thus proving its durability in the Indian market. The car rivals the likes of Ford Figo Hyundai, Grand i10 Nios, and Maruti Suzuki Swift.
