Suzuki Motorcycle India has recalled the quarter-litre offerings – the Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 in India. The Suzuki Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 manufactured between August 12, 2019, and March 21, 2021, has been affected by this voluntary recall.
Suzuki has stated that 199 units of the quarter-litre models are affected by this recall. The recall has been made due to excessive engine vibrations caused by an incorrectly positioned balancer shaft. The vibrations may cause two out of six nuts securing the tail light to come loose. Suzuki has clarified that it will not cause any problem to the functioning of the motorcycle.
Suzuki will get in touch with the owners of the affected motorcycles and fix the issue free of cost at the service centre. But with the current pandemic situation and lockdown imposed in several states, expect a delay till the restrictions are eased.
The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 and Gixxer 250 draw power from a 249cc engine producing 26.1bhp and 22.2Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
