Renault Kiger Pre-Launch Bookings Begin In Major Cities: Arrived Ahead Of Launch

Ahead of its launch in March, Renault dealerships in major cities have begun accepting unofficial pre-launch bookings for the Kiger. As per reports from CarDekho, select dealerships are accepting bookings for a token amount ranging between Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 20,000, which is entirely refundable.

The newly revealed Kiger is Renault India’s sub-4 metre SUV, and it is set to compete with some of the established rivals like Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, the Nissan Magnite, Mahindra XUV300, Toyota Urban Cruiser, and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.

The subcompact Renault Kiger SUV has an 80 percent design theme of its concept model, which got revealed in 2020. It is the second car from this manufacturer to be based on the CMF-A+ platform, soon after the Triber MPV. Designed and engineered specifically for India, Kiger will be made at Renault’s facility in Tamil Nadu.

This soon-to-be-launched car comes with a signature grille with a 3D graphic finish, rear skid plate, C-shaped LED taillights, split LED headlamps, the LED DRLs, a roof-mounted spoiler, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, pronounced wheels arches, roof rails, etc.

To speak about interiors, the Kiger subcompact SUV incorporates a 7-inch digital instrument console, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Arkamays 3D sound system, steering-mounted controls, climate control, engine start-stop button, rear AC vents with a 12-volt charging slot, wireless charging, fabric upholstery, dual-tone paint scheme, and more.

The Kiger will get its engine choices from Nissan Magnite SUV. The Kiger will be offered with a 1-litre turbocharged petrol unit, which can churn out 98bhp and 160Nm of peak torque, and a 1-litre three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is good for 71bhp and 96Nm of peak torque. The engines of the Kiger will be coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox and optional CVT and AMT units. But the CVT gearbox option will not be available during the launch.  The SUV is said to be priced in the range of Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 9 lakh (ex-showroom).
