Okinawa’s first electric bike Oki100 is all set to unveil in the Indian market after showing its prototype in 2018. The company has teased its arrival ahead of launch.
In the teaser image, we can see the caption ‘coming soon,’ signaling buyers that the Okinawa Oki100 electric bike will hit the Indian roads in the coming weeks. Okinawa Autotech planned to introduced this motorcycle in 2020; however, Covid-19 pushed this plan off track.
The popular EV-maker worked on this model for quite a while and now updated its website with the new image. Once launched, the all-new Oki100 will receive a price tag of around Rs. 1 lakh (ex-showroom), competing with the Revolt RV400.
Okinawa is planning for the localization of this motorcycle, including its battery cells and other components. Earlier, the company had confirmed that its first electric bike would be built in India.
Although the electric motorcycle’s performance details are not known officially, we can expect it to receive a 125cc premium IC-engine with a top speed of 100kmph.
The other details include placement of powertrain in the conventional way to offer a low centre of gravity, weight balance, and thereby aid handling of the bike. Besides, Okinawa Oki100 gets features like digital instrument display and LED lighting.
