Ford India launched EcoSport SE in the domestic market after a series of teasers. Ford EcoSport SE is a made-in-India model with a price tag (ex-showroom Delhi) of Rs. 10.49 lakh for petrol and Rs. 10.99 lakh for the diesel.
2021 EcoSport SE gets a different rear end identical to the international version. It does not come with the tailgate-mounted spare wheel made available on other Ford EcoSport models in the Indian market. Instead, it gets a puncture repair kit as a standard.
The petrol variant EcoSport SE is packed with a 1.5-litre engine that belts out a maximum power output of 123hp, whereas the diesel variant gets 1.5-litre engine that churns out 100hp. Both engines are then paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.
To speak about safety features, the all-new Ford EcoSport SE comes with dual front airbags, a defogger, a rear camera, a rear wiper, a tyre pressure monitor, and ABS with EBD. However, when the new EcoSport SE is compared to the top-spec EcoSport S, it misses some features as it costs Rs. 50,000 less than the range-topping variant.
The missing features include ESC, traction control, on the side and curtain airbags, hill-start assist, cruise control, auto HID headlights, auto wipers, auto-dimming inside, a rear-seat armrest, rear-view mirror, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, as well as leatherette seat covers.
Other features equipped in EcoSport SE include Sync 3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a sunroof, and 16-inch alloy wheels.
Ford EcoSport SE puts up against the likes of the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Hyundai Venue, and Mahindra XUV300. We can expect EcoSport SE to hit Indian showrooms by the festive season.
