Mercedes-Benz India is all set to launch A-Class Limousine on March 25, 2021. The company re-enters the compact luxury sedan segment by presenting this completely new design, heralding a new automobile generation.
The Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine will be the second AMG model to be locally-assembled here, and therefore, we can expect the highest price tag. The all-new offering of Mercedes-Benz was originally scheduled for launch last year. However, it got delayed because of COVID-19.
The all-new A-Class Limousine will be available in three variants – A 200, A 200d, and A 35 AMG. The petrol A 200 is powered by the 1.4-litre turbocharged engine mated to a 7-speed DCT and produces 161bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. The diesel version comes with the 2-litre four-cylinder oil burner that packs 147bhp and 320Nm of peak torque. This model gets an 8-speed DCT.
The range-topping Mercedes-AMG A 35 comes with the more powerful 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine and produces 302bhp and 400Nm of torque. It offers a top speed of 225 kmph and can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 4.8 seconds.
The India-spec A-Class Limousine sets new benchmarks in terms of design and obsession. It gets its cabin loaded on the feature front and the dual screens with the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) system. We can also expect this luxury car to receive the Mercedes Me Connect system with features like voice command, Park Assist, Climate Control, Active Brake Assist, and much more.
The compact luxury saloon is likely to be the brand’s most affordable sedan on sale in India and maybe priced under Rs. 40 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete against BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe in the segment.
