Mahindra & Mahindra is gearing for the introduction of the automatic variant of the Marazzo MPV. Yes, a report from Autocar India states that the Mahindra Marazzo will soon get an automatic gearbox option for the diesel engine.
Mahindra Marazzo will feature a 6-speed AMT gearbox. The MPV draws power from a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine producing 119bhp and 300Nm of torque. Mahindra is also said to be developing a petrol engine for the MPV. Currently, Marazzo is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox option. The AMT gearbox will be offered across all the trim levels, that is, M2, M4+ and M6+.
The Mahindra Marazzo comes with standard features such as power windows, rear AC vents, dual front airbags, ABS and much more. The top-of-the-line M6+ trim gets additional features such as 17-inch alloy wheels, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control and much more. The MPV is available in 7-seater and 8-seater configurations.
The upcoming Mahindra Marazzo automatic is expected to be expensive by Rs 40,000-50,000 compared to the currently sold manual models. The Marazzo AMT will rival the automatic variants of the Maruti Ertiga and the more premium Maruti XL6.
