KTM has officially revealed a limited edition model of its super naked, super special, lighter, and more focused motorcycle – KTM 1290 Super Duke RR. The new bike is a revised version of the 1290 Super Duke R and comes with higher-spec components.
The RR version is 9 kg lighter than the predecessor, with a kerb weight of 180 kg. It gets extensive carbon fibre components, including the sharp tail unit. The wheels weigh 1.5 kg lighter than before and come with super-sticky Michelin Power Cup2 hoops for additional grip on the track.
The KTM 1290 Super Duke RR is powered by the 1301 cc, LC8, 75-degree, v-twin engine producing 180bhp and 140Nm of peak torque. The electronics features are updated on the RR. The new motorcycle comes with an adjustable WP Apex Pro 7117 steering damper, WP Apex Pro 7548 Close Cartridge forks, Apex Pro 7746 rear shock.
The bike comes in two riding modes – track and performance. This allows almost unlimited adjustability options for rear-wheel slip, launch control, throttle response, as well as motor slip regulation.
KTM will build only 500 of the 1290 Super Duke RR, with some being offered on sale in Europe through an online pre-order portal. There is no news on RR hitting Indian roads yet.
