Land Rover reveals all information about the 2021 Discovery facelift before launching in India. The details are out on the company’s India website. The upcoming Land Rover Discovery was revealed in November 2020 and is expected to launch in the coming months.
2021 Discovery looks similar to the outgoing model. However, some changes include restyled front fascia, grille, and headlamps featuring LED Matrix tech on top variants. At the rear end, the SUV gets the same asymmetrical profile of the tailgate but with an improved design, such as the inclusion of two revised tail lamps.
The all-new Discovery facelift comes with the latest R-Dynamic trim line that offers a gloss-black treatment to trim elements, like the bumper, grille, roof, wing mirrors, body cladding, and alloy wheels.
Some updates on the 2021 Land Rover Discovery interior include a new 11.4-inch touch-enabled infotainment system, four-spoke steering, rotary gear knob, and air-con panel restyled with touch features.
Land Rover Discovery gets three engine options – two petrol and one diesel. The 2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine generates 300hp and 400Nm of peak torque, while the 3-litre in-line six-cylinder unit produces 360hp and 500Nm of torque.
The 3-litre in-line six-cylinder diesel engine pushes out 300hp and 650Nm of torque. Both 3-litre engines are likely to receive 48V mild-hybrid tech for enhanced fuel efficiency. The 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, as well as the all-wheel-drive system, are standard across the SUV.
The Discovery facelift is available in two trim levels – Discovery and Discovery R-Dynamic, and three variants – S, SE, and HSE. The top-spec Discovery R-Dynamic HSE model gets heated and cooled front seats with memory function, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a Meridien sound system, a new Pivi Pro infotainment system with OTA updates and connected car tech, amongst other features.
The all-new Land Rover Discovery facelift is expected to be priced slightly above its predecessors (Rs. 75.59 to 87.99 lakh). Besides, SUV rivals the BMW X5, Audi Q7, Mercedes-Benz GLE, and the Volvo XC90.
