KTM reveals the all-new 1290 Super Adventure R offering unmatched ability with class-leading performance. This off-road-centric model comes with a revised chassis, lighter engine internals, a new electronics package, a new gearbox, and a lower centre of gravity.
The 1290 Super Adventure R gets 1,301 cc, V-twin-engine, producing 158bhp and 138Nm of Torque. The company designed the engine to be a little lighter, weighing 1.6 kg now. Other additions include new pistons, revised exhaust unit, reworked gear-shift mechanism, altered coatings, and lighter engine cases.
KTM unveils its new 1290 Super Adventure R in a refreshed look and gets its colours from the old 990 Adventure. Apart from eye-catching paintwork, the bike features a stepped-up seat, 7.0-inch TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, LED headlamp, an upswept exhaust, ALPINA aluminium spoked wheels, and handguards.
The bike sports a 3-part sloping fuel tank with extensions, allowing 23-litres of capacity. It is designed to be stored lower down, thereby providing better stability and a low centre of gravity.
The KTM 1290 Super Adventure R will be available for sale in Europe in the coming months and priced at 16,000 GBP (around Rs. 16.38 lakh). This new bike or its sibling, the 1290 Super Adventure S, will not likely be launched in India.
So far, the KTM 790 Duke is the only biggest KTM ever to be introduced in India. However, we can expect the company to introduce both the 890 Duke and 890 Adventure in our market.
