Hyundai IONIQ 5: Unique Exteriors
IONIQ 5 comes with breath-taking dynamics and features. Its unique exterior design is based on the Pony-inspired profile. The front fascia gets a clamshell bonnet known to lessen panel gaps for aerodynamics. Besides, the front bumper draws customer’s attention with an eye-catching V-shape and daytime running lights (DRLs).
The C-pillar shape, borrowed from the brand’s 45’ EV concept, offers the all-new IONIQ 5 an impressive existence distinguishable from far afield. The front and rear of Hyundai IONIQ 5 merge at its doors, offering a great example of the company’s Parametric Dynamics design that was first showcased on the Tucson.
Built upon the Korean brand’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), IONIQ 5 takes a unique proportion on an elongated wheelbase set at 3000mm. According to the company, this electric car’s wheelbase makes it a luxury sedan in the world.
Hyundai IONIQ 5: Flexible Interiors
On the inside, IONIQ 5 receives the ‘Living Space’ theme, allowing more freedom of movement. The electric car is embodied by the Universal Island, a moveable center console that lets you slide back as much as 140 mm.
Hyundai IONIQ 5 also packs electronically adjustable front seats. You can recline the seats to an optimum angle, offering a weightless feeling. Besides, the company has minimized the front seats’ thickness by 30 percent, offering more space for passengers in the second row.
Hyundai IONIQ 5: Eco-Friendly Features
The car is equipped with other interior features such as the usage of eco-friendly materials. For example, carpet, seat cover, and headliners utilize the raw materials extracted from sugar cane.
Similarly, other sustainably sourced materials included in IONIQ 5 are:
- Natural wool yarns.
- Plant-based (bio PET) yarns.
- Recycled PET bottles.
- Bio paint with plant extracts.
- Eco-processed leather with plant-based extracts.
Hyundai IONIQ 5: Power and Batteries
The IONIQ 5 comes with a range of power electric (PE) configurations. It gives you two battery pack options – 58 kWh or 72.6 kWh. You also get to choose between two electric motor layouts – a rear motor only or both front and rear. All PE variations of Hyundai IONIQ 5 delivers a top speed of 185 kmph.
Featuring 800V battery technology, the electric car gets the power of ultra-rapid charging, letting you charge it from 10 percent to 80 percent in 18 minutes. You only need to charge this vehicle for five minutes to obtain a 100 km of range.
Hyundai IONIQ 5: Advanced Driving Assistance Systems
IONIQ 5 features an advanced driver assistance system – Hyundai SmartSense. It ensures the highest safety and convenience level on the road. This is the first Hyundai model to receive Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2).
The car gets other interesting driving assistance systems such as Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), High Beam Assist (HBA), and more.
Hyundai IONIQ 5 Launch Plans In India
Hyundai did not make any official announcement of bringing IONIQ 5 to India, as Hyundai’s mass-market EV for our market is still under development. However, we can expect it to be launched here in the next two years.
Currently, Hyundai offers one EV in India – Kona Electric, priced between Rs. 23.76 lakh and Rs. 23.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
