The French carmaker has revealed all-new Citroen C5 X at a global premiere. Inspired by the CXperience concept, the new flagship is said to help the company return to the D segment after four long years.
To speak about looks, the 2021 Citroen C5 X gets the latest quirky looks like a wagon. It blends the body styles of SUVs, estates, and also sedans. It comes with a high waistline, long bonnet, split LED headlights, subtle finishes to the grille, wraparound light units, a large glass panoramic sunroof on top, laminated front and rear windows, 19-inch wheel arches, and tapered roof at the rear.
Standing tall at 4.81 meters long, 1.87 meters wide, 1.49 meters high, the car comes with a wheelbase of 2.79 metres. The carmaker packs Citroen C5 X with comfortable seats having special padding, upholstery as well as texture. You get enough headroom and legroom space even in the second row.
Citroen introduces the C5 X with an Advanced Comfort active suspension. This suspension is promised to offer a more comfortable and smoother ride. Besides, the car gets Level 2 autonomous driving credentials.
The cockpit of Citroen C5 X includes a 12-inch tablet-like infotainment touch screen, wireless Mirror screen function, voice recognition, 360° vision surround-view camera, four USB-C sockets, and also wireless charging pad for smartphones. The motorised tailgate also features a hands-free function.
You will get C5 X in two engine options – a petrol unit and a plug-in hybrid model. The plug-in hybrid unit will be the same as other Citroen and Peugeot cars. With a capability of generating 225hp, the new Citroen can exceed 50 km in electric mode and reach the highest speed of 135 kmph.
We can expect Citroen C5 X to launch globally in the second half of 2021, first in Europe.
