French automaker Citroen has revealed the details of the C5 Aircross SUV ahead of its launch in the Indian market. Citroen has revealed the engine specifications and variant details of the SUV. The Citroen C5 Aircross will be brought to India as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit and will be assembled at the company’s Thiruvallur plant in Tamil Nadu.
Now coming to the specifications, the Citroen C5 Aircross will draw power from a 2-litre diesel engine producing 174bhp and 400Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to an 8-speed automatic (torque-converter) gearbox. The SUV will deliver a claimed fuel efficiency of 18.6km/l.
The C5 Aircross will be offered in two variants: Feel and Shine. The colour options for the SUV include Perla Nera Black, Tijuca Blue, Cumulus Grey and Pearl White. The Black, Blue and Grey colour models also get an optional dual-tone paint scheme with the blacked-out roof. Other prominent features of the SUV include LED Vision projector headlamps, LED DRLs, 18-inch SWIRL dual-tone diamond-cut alloys wheels, panoramic sunroof and much more.
The interior of the Citroen C5 Aircross is dominated by an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features of the interior include steering-mounted audio controls, 6-speaker audio system and dual-zone climate control. The rear passenger seat bench is unique with three individually adjustable seats.
The safety features of the SUV includes six airbags, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, electronic stability programme (ESP), traction control, TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), reverse parking camera and much more. Talking about the dimensions, the C5 Aircross measures 4,500mm in length and comes with a 580-litre boot, which can be expanded up to 1,630 litres with rear seats folded down. Another highlight of the SUV is Citroen’s Progressive Hydraulic Cushion suspension system.
Expect Citroen to launch the C5 Aircross in India by March 2021. The company has already announced the roll-out of the first SUV from the Thiruvallur plant. Once launched in India, the C5 Aircross will be retailed via Citroen’s La Maison dealership network.
