BMW reveals the all-new i4 at Group Annual Conference. The BMW i4 is an all-electric 4 door Gran Coupé that comes with sporty looks, best-in-class driving dynamics, and zero local emissions.
The final, production-spec model is a refined balance of BMW’s typical sturdiness, comfort, and sustainable performance. The new i4 sedan looks similar to the combustion-engined 4 Series in exterior and interior design elements.
Although entire spec details are not yet revealed, we can expect the range-topping model like i4 M to send up to 530hp to both axles and produce a range of 590km on the WLTP cycle. With this power, the car is capable of accelerating from zero to 100kmph in 4 seconds.
To speak about the BMW i4 platform, it is grounded on a revised version of the CLAR, which strengthens the present 3 series and 4 series, supporting battery packs of up to 80kWh capacity. You can also see an entry-level rear-wheel-drive model offered with a smaller battery, as is the case with the larger iX.
The pure-electric i4 sedan brings in an eighth-generation iDrive operating system that features a new dashboard layout as well as visual design. This allows over-the-air updates and reduces physical controls in the cabin. The company will release more details on the BMW i4 specs over the next weeks.
BMW i4, along with the new iX3 SUV, i3 electric hatchback, and iX flagship, will be sold in international markets. We can expect the company to have 12 pure EVs on sale worldwide by 2023.
