BMW has introduced the new M340i xDrive variant of the 3 Series sedan in the Indian market. The BMW M340i is priced at Rs 62.90 lakh ex-showroom (India). The M340i is the first locally-assembled performance-oriented 3 Series sedan, and it is slotted above the 320d and 330i variants of the 3 Series sedan.
On the design front, the new BMW M340i features a new kidney grille with a chrome treatment, sleek headlights and a sporty bumper. The sedan is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, and the 19-inch wheels are optional. The rear of the M340i features wide LED taillights and M Sport dual exhausts.
The sedan is available in three colours: Tanzanite Blue, Dravit Grey Metallic and Sunset Orange.
The M340i draws power from a 3-litre six-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 387bhp and 500Nm of torque. The engine is coupled with an 8-speed automatic gearbox sending power to all four wheels via an xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
The sedan sprints from 0-100km/h in just 4.4 seconds. The performance-focused sedan also comes with M Sport suspension, differential, brakes and exhaust system. Overall, the package offers a performance improvement over the standard 330i.
The interior of the BMW M340i features a 12.3-inch display for the instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Other features include a sunroof, three-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, LED headlights with laser high beams, wireless charger and much more.
