The much-awaited all-new Skoda Octavia will be launched in April and begins delivery a month later. Zac Hollis, Director of Škoda Auto India, confirms the launch of the new Octavia on Twitter.
The fourth-gen Octavia receives a bigger dimension than the previous model. It is 19mm longer and 15mm wider and gets a 190hp 2-litre TSI engine. The upcoming Octavia is expected to maintain the international model’s styling cues. However, it excludes the predecessor’s quad-headlight headlight setup.
The interiors of the new Skoda Octavia are highlighted with all new features. Its latest cabin layout and dashboard feature a horizontally layered design that is dominated by digital screens. The car’s new two-spoke steering wheel and knurled scroll wheels also get your attention.
On the inside, you can expect the 2021 Skoda Octavia to hold a beige-on-black colour scheme that aids with the sense of space in the cabin. Other features of the car comprise a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, connected car tech, 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster, a digital assistant – Laura, three-zone climate control, as well as wireless smartphone charging facility.
The India-spec Skoda Octavia does not include a diesel engine, as the company wants to focus primarily on the petrol mil with the transition to BS6 norms. As stated by the Skoda director, the new sedan is scheduled to launch in the Indian market by April end 2021.
We can expect the Skoda Octavia to get a price tag of Rs. 18-24 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The new sedan puts up against the Hyundai Elantra’s likes by being sold in this price range.
