Volkswagen partially revealed the design sketch of the seventh-gen Volkswagen Polo GTI ahead of its global debut in June 2021. According to the sketch, the all-new GTI gets a sharper look with an updated design.
It gets an updated front grille, dual-LED strip, and a new mesh-type structure with hexagon shape inserts. The latest Volkswagen Polo GTI also comes with a pair of bumper-mounted LED fog lamps and a ‘GTI’ badge highlighted in red.
Volkswagen promises to offer exceptional driving dynamics alongside regular usability in its new Polo GTI. The upcoming GTI is based on the recently updated Polo and comes with Volkswagen’s optional driver assistance systems, such as Travel Assist as well as Level 2 semi-autonomous driving features.
2021 Volkswagen Polo GTI receives the latest MIB3 touchscreen infotainment system, new touch-sensitive sliders to manage interior temperature, and the brand’s new IQ Light technology.
The powertrain option in the new VW Polo GTI is not yet confirmed. However, the existing model is packed with a 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that pushes out 203hp of maximum power, while the limited-rum later models produce 210hp. The engine was mated to a six-speed manual earlier but now paired with a dual-clutch (DSG) automatic gearbox.
Volkswagen sold the facelifted fifth-gen Polo GTI in India from 2016 to 2020. However, there are no updates on the all-new Polo GTI hitting the Indian roads anytime soon.
