Royal Enfield launched the 2021 Himalayan in India, Europe, and the UK today. The motorcycle is priced at Rs. 2,01,314 (ex-showroom, Chennai), and is now available for booking and test rides.
The new Himalayan is the company’s first dual-purpose motorcycle. It’s built to be tough, versatile, as well as adaptable to all terrain types. This launch marks the motorcycle’s debut in the ‘Make-It-Yours’ platform, letting riders personalize, accessorize, and book the bike online.
Over time, Royal Enfield evolved the Himalayan in design and functionality. This can be found in the new Himalayan as it gets some major upgrades to its features and cosmetics. It comes with the Royal Enfield Tripper Navigation system, which was previously seen in the Royal Enfield Meteor 350.
Besides, 2021 Himalayan features a rear carrier with an extra plate, new windscreen, reduced height, seat with better cushioning, ergonomically adjusted front rack to make the adventure tourer more comfortable.
The new motorcycle continues to be powered by a 411 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled SOHC 4-stroke engine connected to a 5-speed transmission. 2021 Himalayan produces a maximum power output of 24.3bhp and 32Nm of peak torque. It comes with dual-channel ABS, a switchable rear ABS, and a hazard lamp switch.
The new Royal Enfield Himalayan is made available in 3 new colours – mirage silver, granite black, and pine green. It adds to the existing palette comprising 3 colours – gravel grey, lake blue, and rock red.
