A year-old MG ZS EV is said to receive its first update soon. The official details of a new model are unclear. However, the company will be announcing its price on February 8, 2021. The new MG comes with certain tweaks to its features and equipment, similar to Hector’s recent update mid-size SUV this year.
2021 ZS EV will not include any major changes on its design front or running gear. However, it comes with some standard safety features like six airbags, hill start assist, hill descent control, ESC, ABS, electric parking brake, brake assist, Isofix child seat mounts, tyre pressure monitor, parking sensors, and rear camera. The top-end trim will additionally receive heated wing mirrors.
The automaker will add the ZS EV equipment levels, currently seen in two other variants – Exclusive and Excite. The range-topping Exclusive trim comes with leatherette upholstery, power foldable wing mirrors, panoramic sunroof, auto wipers, connected car tech, a PM 2.5 air filter, and a powered driver seat.
Simultaneously, the Excite gets LED DRLs, 17-inch alloys, halogen projector headlamps, cruise control, an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and auto headlamps.
The ZS EV excludes some features present in its rivals, such as auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror, auto air conditioner, wireless phone charging, telescopic steering, LED headlamps, ventilated and heated front seats, and digital dials. However, we can expect the company to use this model year update for bringing its all-electric SUV to stay ahead of the competition.
2021 MG ZS EV was retailed only in five cities – Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad when it got first introduced in 2020. Now, the list has been expanded to 21 other cities.
Currently, the ZS EV is priced at Rs. 20.88-23.58 lakh (ex-showroom). But, we can expect the price to go up in the new model.
