MG Motor India has launched the new Petrol-CVT variant of the Hector SUV. The 2021 MG Hector Petrol-CVT is launched in the country at a starting price of Rs. 16.52 lakh ex-showroom (India). The Petrol-CVT version of the MG Hector and Hector Plus is offered in two trim levels: Smart and Sharp.

MG Motor India has recently updated the Hector with changes to the exterior design and features. The 2021 avatar of the SUV gets a revamped front grille and a black applique on the tailgate, which replaces the reflector. The SUV also gets larger 18-inch alloy wheels and new scuff plates at the front and rear.
The interior of the 2021 MG Hector now comes with a dual-tone interior with beige upholstery. Other new features of the SUV includes ventilated seats, wireless smartphone charger and auto-dimming IRVM. MG has also updated the voice assistant of the SUV which can now recognise up to 31 Hinglish commands and some commands in Hindi. The voice commands can be used to control various functions of the SUV.
The MG Hector CVT draws power from the same 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 141bhp and 250Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-step CVT gearbox. The SUV also gets Eco and Sport driving modes. The CVT gearbox will enhance the fuel-efficiency and will offer a smooth driving experience. The Hector CVT will rival the Petrol-CVT variants of the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and Kia Seltos.
