The updated Kia Sonet has been launched in India with the new Kia badge, latest trims, and advancements. The new Kia receives the price tag (ex-showroom) ranging from Rs. 6.79 lakh for the base petrol to Rs. 13.25 lakh for the diesel variant.

The 2021 Kia Sonet comes with two variants – HTX 1-litre turbo-petrol 7DCT and HTX diesel 6AT. Whereas, in terms of feature updates, the new Sonet gets paddle shifters in HTX 7DCT, GTX+ 7DCT, HTX AT, as well as GTX+ AT automatic model.
The all-new Kia Sonet gets a rejig in terms of features. The top-spec HTX+ and GTX+ trims come with the latest features like first-in-segment rear door sunshade curtains. Besides, it receives the first-in-segment voice command for opening and closing the sunroof, offered in the HTX, HTX+, GTX+ trim levels.
To speak about safety, the 2021 Sonet comes with vehicle stability management (VSM), brake assist (BA), electronic stability control (ESC), and hill assist control (HAC) in the lower variants too. Some low variants Sonet also gets features like a smart key with push-button start, sunroof, chrome door handles, remote engine start, and crystal cut alloys with silver wheel caps.
The new Kia Sonet is packed with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel producing 99bhp and 240Nm of Torque, and it’s mated to a six-speed manual or an automatic transmission.
Besides, the updated car is also offered in two petrol engine options. 1-litre turbo-petrol engine is paired with either a six-speed iMT unit or a seven-speed DCT unit and makes 117bhp and 172Nm of Torque. The 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder is mated to a five-speed manual transmission and capable of generating 81bhp and 115Nm.
The 2021 Kia Sonet rivals the likes of Ford EcoSport, Nissan Magnite, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Mahindra XUV300, and Renault Kiger.
