Benelli has just revealed an updated version of the 302R in China. The entry-level sports bike and the production model come with a total revamp and is expected to hit the Indian market later in 2021.
The 2021 Benelli 302R gets a completely new look as well as mechanical features. The motorcycle gets an updated engine that meets the latest Euro 5 emission norms. The BS6, 302 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine produces 34.5bhp and 27Nm of peak torque. The new engine has a slightly lesser output than the BS4 version.
To speak about cosmetic changes, the all-new Benelli 302R comes with the most striking face, new body graphics, sharper silhouette, muscular 14-litre tank, aerodynamic winglets, updated switches, full-colour TFT instrument console, revised windshield, vertically stacked projector headlamp, LED turn indicators, and a LED taillight. Besides, the Benelli 302R weighs less by 22 kg, giving it 182 kg kerb weight.
The entry-level fully-faired Benelli is packed with a 41 mm upside-down front fork with preload adjustability to handle the front suspension duties. Dual front discs manage the braking of the bike with four-piston calipers and a dual-channel ABS, with a single disc on the rear end.
We can expect the India launch to happen in the second half of this year. Also, the bike might receive a competitive price tag in the range of Rs. 3.5 lakh (Ex-showroom). The 2021 Benelli 302R will compete against the likes of TVS Apache RR 310, KTM RC 390, and Kawasaki Ninja 300.
